The author describes a very large maple that had already uprooted during a storm and reports one price covering hauling and cleanup, with taxes included. No invoice or independent account of the job was available for this record.

An uprooted-tree cleanup has a different starting condition from removing a standing tree. The reported amount should therefore be compared with the condition and finish of another job before comparing the numbers. Dimensions, access, machinery and the treatment of the remaining stump are not documented. The word cleanup does not establish that roots were excavated, that chips were removed or that new soil and grass were supplied.
